Amy S. Fleming

Amy Fleming is the Chief of Staff at Cock Island Capital, a single-family office in Portsmouth VA. 

Amy joined Cock Island Capital in May of 2022, following a 20-year career in the insurance industry with Bankers Insurance, one of the nation’s largest privately-owned independent insurance agencies. She began her career with Bankers Insurance immediately after college where she started off as an Administrative Assistant in her hometown. After obtaining her Property and Casualty license, she was entrusted with managing a portfolio in the commercial insurance department.

In 2005, Amy relocated to the Bankers Insurance Portsmouth branch where she worked with senior management to establish and oversee the Customer Care Center (CCC), a specialized unit for small business clients. Following four years in this role, she transitioned to the Quality Assurance department where she developed and disseminated reports to support daily operations, conducted internal audits, and facilitated compliance reviews.

In 2019, Amy was promoted to Vice President of Project Management working closely with the Executive Team on multiple acquisitions of agencies across Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. She also played a key role in fostering and promoting the agency's culture, which was particularly vital during the transition to a remote/hybrid work model amid the pandemic.


Angie L. Stokes, CPA

Angie Stokes is the Chief Financial Officer of Cock Island Capital providing financial oversight and services to portfolio companies and clients.

Angie is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Virginia since 2002 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Washington State University. Prior to joining Cock Island in 2022, Angie spent over 20 years providing accounting and consulting services to clients in varied industries throughout Hampton Roads. The first decade of her career was spent in private industry before transitioning to public accounting with the regional accounting firm Wall, Einhorn & Chernitzer. In 2010, Angie founded her own accounting services company, Stokes Office Solutions. Angie is a former recipient of the Virginia Inside Business “Super CPA” Award.


J. Cameron Robinett

Cameron Robinett has over 20 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and related consulting services for public and private companies.

Cameron is the Founder of Cock Island Capital, a single- family (SFO) office in Portsmouth VA focused on illiquid alternative investments including private equity, venture capital, real estate, royalties, and digital assets. In conjunction with its investment management mandate, Cock Island offers its family members and clients an array of services including financial planning, risk management, business succession planning, family education & multi-generational preparation, and lifestyle management.  Cameron currently serves as Chairman of Waverton, a multi-family and self-storage development company, and Cedar Point Club, a private, full-service country club. He is also on the board of PRTI, Inc., a portfolio company focused on tire recycling and off-grid power generation.

Cameron previously served as analyst for The Gartman Letter, L.C., publisher of The Gartman Letter, a daily financial newsletter on the global capital markets addressing economic, political, and technical trends from both long-term and short-term perspectives.  In addition to providing research and investment concepts for the publication, Cameron was solely responsible for sourcing, executing, and managing the firm’s private equity, venture capital, and real estate portfolio. He also developed various public market products including ETNs and ETFs.

Cameron began his career as an analyst with Florida Capital Partners and was responsible for conducting detailed industry and company research, screening new opportunities, monitoring existing portfolio companies, and maintaining relationships with the firm’s bank lenders. Mr. Robinett also has experience in the development of joint ventures and strategic partnerships in both the public and private markets. Upon departing Florida Capital, Cameron was a founding partner of Westshore Capital Partners. 

Cameron holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
